Kelly & Jan's Travels
About (Biography)

Hi, here is a little info on us. We were married Sept. 3, 1999. We both enjoy traveling and seeing new places. We started off with a motorcyle with homemade trailer, sleeping in a tent. We had a lot of fun with this cause the trailer looked like a smoker. Kelly had made this before we married and added more storage area when I came along. We traveled like this for 2-3 yrs. We went everywhere.  We even sold pop-up motorcyle trailers for a man. One day we are at Lake Arbuckle camping with the pop-up and we met some nice people with a motorhome and invited us in to check it out. Well that day changed our lives, next thing we had a class C motorhome 1968, with the bed over the cab. Well we got a trailer to put the bike in and we were all set. First trip was to Durango, CO and up the million dollar hi-way on the train. We had a blast even thought Kelly had a bad case of celluitis in his leg. Kelly and I had a few close calls riding the motorcycle and decided that maybe not safe anymore so we sold the bike and bought car dolly for the car. Then our car wore out and we got a Saturn that we could tow flat with a tow bar. Well things were going good and then one day we were in Texas and I saw this Bounder on a lot for sale. It was 32ft long and in great shape so we took it home trading in the class C. I almost forgot when I married Kelly he had Harley the cat and she loved the Bounder but didnt like the Class C. The bounder was so nice that we ended up sleeping in it in the driveway of our house. So we thought this is  a waste of a house so we sold the house and moved into it full time and never thought second about selling the house. Well there was not any RV parks around the area so we move to Thackerville , OK and I drove to work and back for a short period. Well here come my biggest mistake of my life. I got to wanting what the  Jones had and found a motorhome in Texas with two slides and 37 feet long and we bought it. We  have had lots of trouble with it and wish I had bounder back but cant go back. So here we are stuck with the Tropical and its many problems which at this time I will not go into. Again the Jones got the better of me and we found a 2004 Vue Saturn that I thought we needed so guess what we bought it. Anyone starting out in the traveling world, do not do this. When you start out get the rig that suits you best and stick with it. Part of the story I missed is I am a nurse and have been for some 38 yrs now. I was working for the state of Oklahoma and found out that at age 55 I could retire and get 60% of my retirement and keep my insurance. Keep it and pay for it.LOL Anyway June6 2007 that is exacting what we did and then took off for parts unknown. LOL. The problem is with my idea of changes rigs and cars so often my retirement turned into that fact the new toys meant I had to work full time. So summer of 2007 I started working for Life Care Centers of America. My first job was for 4months in Farmington, NM. We stayed there and went on our days off ups into CO seeing so many beautiful sites. One day we were in outside Silverton and I saw these two bright yellow twoseater ATV's. Found out one of the guys was from little town close to Pauls Valley where I grew up . Well shortly after that day it was time for us to leave NM and I found a job with the same company in Tucson, AZ.  We stayed in small rv park in Catalina, outside of Tucson. We found out there you can drive your  ATV anywhere so guess what Janice went shopping again and now we have bright yellow  Canam ATV. Well we did a lot of riding in the dessert and saw many beautiful sights. Then April came and it was time for us to go to Oklahoma and Arkansas and see our family and then on to CO. I got a job in Alamosa, CO. It was really cold when we first got here and we were not able to ride right away but since then we ride whenever Kelly's not sick and we can get away. Last week our friends from Texas Frank and Virginia arrived and are staying in South Fork only 20 miles away so we are hoping for many good days ahead to ride and visit with them. Well this catches us up to date. We will be adding more pictures and stories in the days ahead. Kellys got a good eye for taking pictures and we love wildlife. See you soon.
